“COOL AS COLE”
I was honored to present this fabulous masterwork painting of 2008 WORLD SERIES MVP Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels to The HAMELS Foundation.
I was approached by, and partnered with, The Hamels Foundation in creating the masterwork for The 2012 Diamond and Denim extravaganza charity event, which was held on August 27, 2012 at The famed Crystal Tea Room in the Wannamaker House in Center City Philly. In attendance were many stars, including 9 time Grammy Award winner John Legend, who even preformed a set at night’s end! Comcast Sports Net anchor Michael Barkann MC’d the event. As the painting was introduced for live auction, Cole Hamels, Jimmy Rollins, Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Kyle Kendrick and Cliff Lee all signed the original, huge, dynamic oil painting! In a biding frenzy, CEO of Benari Jewelers Jacob Benari hit it out of the park offering $24,000.00 to charity, which was 100% donated to The HAMELS Foundation by Milou.
As someone dedicated to philanthrope, as well as a huge baseball fan, this was a huge night for me!
I painted this Cole Hamels 2008 World Series painting in the style of LEROY NEIMAN and am proud that my art raised such a large sum for such a great cause!
