MARILYN OF THE STARS
Inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s 1958 Playboy Magazine Centerfold layout, I experimented painting Marilyn in a Galaxy of blue hues, while adding turpentine and spraying different solvents in the background of the painting.The abstract sky is certainly a departure from my standard work, yet the juxtaposition of pop imagery against this background is quite successful in creating energy in this piece.
