DRESSED TO KILL
I really enjoyed making this pop piece ‘Dressed to Kill. Obviously inspired from the cast of Francis Ford’s Coppola’s THE GODFATHER, posing in their tuxes, are Santino (Sonny) Corleone,Vito Corleone, Michael Corleone, and of course Fredo Corloene. The painting is more or less a 1970′s pop culture piece and there is no intent on my end to paint, ( no pun intended) a stereotypical image of Italian American’s. That being said, all art is completely subjective and left for each one’s interpretation. The addition of The Italian Flag does stir a bit a controversy!

Speaking about STEROTYPES , did you know this amazing fact!
Marlon Brando and Al Pacino boycott
Marlon Brando won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance, but turned down the Oscar, becoming the second actor to refuse a Best Actor award (the first being George C. Scott forPatton). Brando boycotted the Academy Award ceremony, sending instead American Indian Rights activist Sacheen Littlefeather, who appeared in full Apache dress, to state Brando’s reasons, which were based on his objection to the depiction of American Indians[42] by Hollywood and television.
Al Pacino also boycotted the Academy Award ceremony, as he was insulted at being nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor award, noting that he had more screen time than his co-star and Best Actor winner Marlon Brando and thus he should have received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.[43]
